The Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library is a nonprofit, all-volunteer community organization whose members support Scottsdale's public library system through a variety of activities. Money raised by the Friends funds a variety of public programs at the Scottsdale libraries.

WHAT DO THE FRIENDS DO?

  • We provide financial support for programs not covered by city budgets.
  • We raise vital funds and library awareness in the community.
  • We sponsor programs for children, business people, seniors, students... Everyone!
  • We are a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization.

THE LIBRARY NEEDS YOUR HELP TO CONTINUE ALL THEY DO. Limited city funds can only cover the basics. That's why the Scottsdale Public Library relies on its Friends. The Friends support literacy and other programs that make a difference in the community!

The successful Summer Reading Program helps kids keep their love of reading alive and get a big head start when the school year begins again.

The Friends raised funds for Knowasis - a fun and safe learning center where teens can go after school and access valuable school, career and life resources.

Through our ReVentures adult outreach program, community members use library resources to find jobs, reduce business expenses and access trade publications.

Thanks to the Third Grade Reading Program, many students receive their first library card. We believe this is a critical age to develop literacy skills and make library usage a positive habit.
