Scottsdale Elks Lodge Supports FSPL

Thanks to the Scottsdale Elks Lodge for their generous grants to support the following programming: 

• $3,000 for Family Read Aloud Nights program

• $500 for the Scottsdale Seed Library

Family Read Aloud Nights is a collaboration between the Scottsdale Public Library and Scottsdale Unified School District. The library hosts four annual events at Title I schools, bringing families together for interactive literacy experiences. The program includes shared storytelling brought to life through felt boards, large props, and live-action retelling, along with songs, dancing, and practical strategies for families. This program serves approximately 1,500 children and their families each year.

The Scottsdale Seed Library provides up to three free seed packets per month to any Scottsdale Public Library cardholder across all four branches. The seeds—focused on edible plants and herbs—are selected based on seasonal growing conditions. This program is made possible through a partnership between the Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library and Blue Zones Project Scottsdale, promoting sustainability, healthy living, and community wellness.
